Experience Counts. County Cab's History.
County Cab has always led the way in improving its cab service both through adopting state-of-the-art technology or expanding its ability to serve the residents of the St. Louis metro area. Here are some of the milestones:
County Cab was the first to install two-way radios in every vehicle we operated. Customers were delighted at how quickly County Cabs responded to calls. It was a vast improvement over having telephones at designated areas.
County Cab invested in a centralized service center in mid-St. Louis County that combined office, dispatch, vehicle maintenance and parking for its fleet of vehicles. We got more efficient.
Surburban Cab was acquired and significantly increased the number of drivers and vehicles available for customers.
County Cab was the first to use multiple voice channels that greatly increased the speed at which we were able to dispatch cabs. Customers were even more delighted.
County Cab was the first St. Louis taxi cab company to install computer-based dispatching. You may have reservations about computers, but this new system is capable of dispatching trips many times faster than a human being, with much more accuracy and reliability.
County Cab is the first taxi cab company in St. Louis to install GPS (Global Positioning Systems) in each of its cabs. This satellite based service enables us to know the exact position of each cab at any given time. That's why you, your children, or your frail grandparent can always feel safe and secure in one of our cabs.
County Cab acquires Yellow Cab and the combined forces of the two companies provide faster and more responsive service to the full geographical area of St. Louis City and County. And we're not finished yet!
County Cab is the first (and only) taxi cab company to offer true online ordering and SMS test message ordering. Unlike other services, our system is truly integrated. When you order online or by Text, the order is automatically dispatched to our fleet through our computer dispatch system.
